## Livestream Key Points & Simple Reminders
- ∴
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- ∴
-
-
-
- ∴
-

## Wonder Creates the Impulse to Transmit It
*In this part of the broadcast I was describing how one experience can reveal a calling, so I taught it through the moment of wonder that makes a person realize other people would treasure the same feeling. The mechanism underneath is this.*
+Wonder arrives with an impulse attached, and the impulse is distribution rather than possession. A person who encounters something genuinely astonishing does not merely want to keep it; they almost immediately want to arrange for someone else to have it, which is why so many enterprises, institutions, and lifelong vocations trace back to a single afternoon that the founder wanted to reproduce for strangers. The experience supplies both the discovery and the motive to carry it.
That impulse is also the answer to a hard problem, which is how a civilization moves a way of seeing into the next generation. Argument transmits conclusions badly and transmits perception not at all, while an arranged encounter — a lecture series, a workshop, a telescope set up on a sidewalk, a rite repeated annually for children — reproduces the conditions and lets the recipient have the experience themselves. Routine is what buries the capacity, and a new experience is what returns it. The Pleasure of Finding Things Out treats that transmission problem as the half Faraday answered.
