# Assaults on Immigration Officers Are Systemic, Organized, and Funded by Stephen Miller > "[U.S.] Immigration and Customs Enforcement ... has been subjected to an ... 8,000 percent increase in violent assaults. These are not one-off episodes. This is repeat, systemic, organized, funded insurrection, an armed resistance against the federal government." > **— Stephen Miller**, *Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism, July 16, 2026* ## Sources and Context - **Source dossier:** [[research/Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism|Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism]]. - **Direct publication or recording:** [direct transcript](https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesman/2026/07/remarks-at-the-opening-of-the-ministerial-on-the-resurgence-of-political-terrorism/). - **Editorial form:** The readable quotation retains visible brackets and/or an ellipsis for source-supported clarification or omission. The candidate map below records the exact treatment. - **Context and treatment:** The bracket replaces Miller's "our" with the U.S. domain established in the same sentence. He names ICE as the target, the increase he reports, rejects isolated-episode framing, and characterizes the pattern as repeated, systemic, organized, funded resistance.
