# Audit Log
**Entity class:** Security, Compliance, And Authorization Layer concept
**Audit Log** is a governance and assurance mechanism that constrains who may use data, for what purpose, under what controls, and with what audit evidence. The operational value of Audit Log lies in preserving time, provenance, confidence, and alternative explanations.
## Counterterrorism predictive-graph role
Its controls are part of the computational trust fabric, not peripheral paperwork: permissions, provenance, purpose, and auditability must remain machine-enforceable across systems. The analytic state should distinguish ground truth, observed evidence, inferred state, and predicted state.

## Simple Reminders, Quotations, and Thoughts
> "Every meaningful model action must leave tamper-proof human readable evidence. If it can't be observed, it can't be trusted! We need to be able to reproduce how an outcome was achieved without relying on the model to attest to it."
