# Creativity
**Domain:** Human potential / Art / Cognition
**Doc Type:** Canonical concept node
**Maturity:** Developed
## Definition
Creativity is the capacity to generate, combine, test, and express ideas or forms that are both novel and meaningful within a context.
## Mechanism and Significance
Creative range grows when analytical precision, play, technical practice, sensory experience, and symbolic exploration can inform one another. Multiple forms give the mind more routes into the same problem.
## Evidence Boundary
Novelty alone is not creativity, and romantic inspiration does not replace craft, revision, evidence, or sustained practice.
