# Focus **Domain:** Attention / Strategy / Human performance **Doc Type:** Canonical concept node **Maturity:** Developed ## Definition Focus is the selective concentration of attention and effort on a bounded object, task, or mission while competing demands are held outside the active field. ## Mechanism and Significance Selection concentrates finite energy. When repeated actions are chosen through one mission, their effects can reinforce one another and produce cumulative impact rather than remaining scattered outputs. ## Evidence Boundary Narrow attention can also conceal changing conditions, neglected duties, or superior alternatives. Effective focus includes scheduled review and the capacity to redirect when evidence changes. ## Relationships Mission · Discipline · Attention Economy · Persistence ## Simple Reminders, Quotations, and Thoughts > “A focal point concentrates power.
